A month of client reporting, done by Tuesday

Monthly reports for eleven clients ate the first week of every month. A Data Analyst and a Source Reader now assemble them and a person edits rather than builds.

Illustrative workflow — not a verified customer story.

Eleven clients, eleven monthly reports, all due in the first week. The numbers came from four different platforms and the commentary came from whoever had run the account that month. It was assembly work that felt like analysis and left no time for the analysis.

What we put on the board

A Data Analyst pulls the figures for each account into the same shape every time and writes the movement, with the query it ran attached. A Source Reader gathers what the account team wrote during the month so the commentary starts from what actually happened rather than from memory.

The account lead edits. That was always the valuable half, and it is now the only half a person does.

Assembly is not analysis. It only felt like it because it took the same week.
Example output

Work prepared for review

  1. Brief
  2. Research
  3. Draft

What to evaluate

  • Working days to produce a full reporting round
  • Reports assembled without a person opening a spreadsheet
  • Client accounts covered by the same pipeline

Results will be published when measured and approved by a customer.
